(Ayakashi Hana Gatari)

It was very hardcore to translate, this one. In Japanese, Youno’s words refer to many things accentuated in the X things. It was difficult everytime to choose a word to give sense to the song, all in keeping a side of pleasure. My only disappointment is that Yura doesn’t sing with a sensual voice.

For me, this is the song the most terrifying of the CD.

The content is about a youkai hiding her appearance with clothings. She will invite a man for her pleasure, and act as prostitute (oiran). All along, the song she becomes slowly to undress, until the truth is revealed. I let all your imagination runs between the sex and the horror content.

[ – 花魁 = おいらん = oiran = postitute. Other name to refer to “oiran” is “first flower”. The oiran were high-ranking courtesans in Japan, famous especially during the Edo period. They are the main characters in the “world of flowers and willows” (花柳 界, karyuukai). The houses where they lived were called “green houses” (seirou). They are distinguished from ordinary prostitutes by their mastery of the arts, especially dance and singing, and the fact that some have become famous outside of pleasure quarters.
– 妖 = あやかし = ayakashi = refers to the strange phenomenons, when something suspicious and supernatural happens (I chose mysterious for the translation). ]

目覚めの刻 (Mezame no toki) – english translation / FairiA ~幻想妖精絵本~ (FairiA ~gensou yousei ehon~)

A song with really beautiful lyrics. Once again, Youno is awesome here. During the translation, the words were coming, so easily face the beauty of handwriting, from Youno. I’m always learning a lot from his beautiful hand. I really love how the emotion from Yura’s voice, are entered in the composition from toromaru, so melancholy and dramatic.

Just like Lenie Ya Falea, the song turns about the subject of “awakening”.

I tried to translate in putting a lot of feeling, melancholy and tragedy, overflowing from this song, all in keeping a part of mystery. I hope you will like it.

The CD « Ghost Sense » is a collection of dark fairy tales, with the theme of « ghost ». Very few gothic songs about ghosts, from Yura’s CDs. I always want, one day, more ghosts songs from her. And one of my dream had been finally fullfiled. In fact, that’s been five years, that I’m waiting my ghost CD it has nothing more than an awesome level (*_*)!

(Kashokan shoujo) – english translation / Silver Blanchette

Normally, ittomaru is one of illustrators of Yura. I’m very surprise that he can write lyrics like this. I’m also very impressionnated by the story that he has created, and let you at the same time a lot of interpretations possible. At the end the lyrics seems to reveal the truth.

A lot of picture has been made by ittomaru. I will be really glad if you can read three times the translation. First time without my explication and notes. Second time with my comment on the lyrics, and my notes of translation. Third time to have your own opinion about the music.
By the way, you will think that some expressions that I used in english are strange. It’s normal, everything it’s « unclean », from Japenese, and give strange expressions. Same, when we translate the song.

Anyways, just like say Yura, I’m so impressed o_0!

Notes :

Kyrie = It’s an hymn according to a merciful God, to ask the blessing of this one.

紙魚 / shimi = bristletail. This word refers to a class of insect.

The cacotopia pit. Cacotopia (same as the word dystopia) is to refer to a worst possible world. It’s the contrary of utopia world.
« Pit » in the sens of « Orchestra pit ».

Aria. Aria is a piece of music written for a solo vocalist in an opera.

A child picaresque is a miserreux, orphans, « irregular » living on the margins of society.

Refer to a technique of mural painting.

Video in the sens of movie/film. No, it’s not my brain, which is crazy. Please take a look to all the song, you will see that it concurs.

doukeshi ren sun no kami shibai
uso kari no seijo to majo
For the merciful and dimensional drama of God, expert comedians,
Hunt the lies of the saint and the witch.

Very difficult to translate this part. But if you take a look, all the truth is here.

« expert comedians » refers to the puppets of the girl.

« Hunt the lies » refers to the white side, with this false heaven.

« the saint and the witch ». The saint refers to the girl in the white side part. She is considered, like a saint singing in the garden heaven of flowers. The witch refers to the black side part. She is considered like a magician telling/singing the story of each books, that she has invented for her own pleasure.

« For the merciful and dimensional drama of God ». Each books should contains a different dimension/story. The girl is like a God in all world that she has created. When she has enough of one book/world, this world finish to fall in the misery. That’s what illustratre this song, in the black side. She is a person at fault of the fall, of her invented world. After all the last stanza is : « Farewell, my invented movie! »

anata no himitsu no koishi
batsu no ringo ame kisha kippu
The secret of your pebble,
Offers a ticket for the train of heaven, by the apple of punishment…

This paragraph is very difficult to interpret.

小石 / koishi = pebble. But the sens is strange don’t you think? Actually, I think the « anata = you » refers to the man/beloved, in the white side. It’s difficult to interpret the stanza. But I’m thinking about pebbles that you throw, and making ricochet, above the reflecting water. Sadly, your pebble finish, after some ricochets, to sink in the water. With the rest of the song, that’s actually how I understand this paragraph: the beloved has sunk in the water, and so, is soul go to the paradise.

kaieni kaeru chi zukin
hora maku yo sayounara
And can’t never return from the bloody headband…
Farewell, my invented movie!

マク / maku. Written like this « maku » has a lot of interpretations possible. It can means movie, film (more in the sens « film reel »), volume, books, text, curtain, bunting, act of play… It was really difficult to choose the translation.

法螺 / hora. Written like this it can refer to an invented story, but can also means a boasting, big talk.

At the end, I have chosen the translation « my invented movie » in reason of the « video princess », the composition (who makes me think to an old movie) and the poetry invented by the girl.
